What are the differences and characteristics between hard alloy welding rods and structural steel welding rods?

May 15,2023

Hard alloy welding rod refers to a welding rod made of hard alloy as the main component, utilizing various surfacing techniques to improve the wear and corrosion resistance of the workpiece surface. There are both coated and exposed hard alloy welding rods. Applied to easily worn surfacing workpieces, such as mining bucket teeth, oil mining, and other industries.

Hard alloy welding rods are specifically used for metal surface surfacing

Their deposited metal has a certain degree of wear resistance and corrosion resistance at room and high temperatures. Structural steel welding rods (ordinary low alloy steel welding rods) have certain mechanical properties of the deposited metal in natural environments at room temperature. The difference between the two is that hard alloy welding rods are more wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, easy to weld workpieces, and more suitable for harsh working environments than structural steel welding rods.
